School Council
Worth Valley’s School Council plays a crucial role in fostering British values and democracy by giving children a direct voice in the democratic process within their school environment. By participating in council activities, the children learn about the principles of democracy, such as the importance of equality, respect for diversity, and the right to have their opinions heard. They develop skills in negotiation, compromise, and leadership as they work together to address issues and implement positive changes.
Activities organised by the school council often reflect these values, such as promoting inclusivity through cultural events, respecting the environment through eco-friendly initiatives, and fundraising for charitable causes that benefit the wider community. Through their involvement in the school council, the children not only learn about democratic principles but also actively contribute to the development of a democratic culture within the school.
