Life as an evacuee
We had an amazing time at Murton Park. We spent our day as an evacuee and carried out the following activities:
- hand churned and made butter from full fat cream
- created rag rugs
- washed and dried clothes
- learnt how to be a fire guard
- identified bombs and aircraft
- experienced an air raid siren and entered a bomb shelter
- had a gas mask practise in case we were gased by the Germans.
