Life as an evacuee

We had an amazing time at Murton Park. We spent our day as an evacuee and carried out the following activities:

  • hand churned and made butter from full fat cream
  • created rag rugs
  • washed and dried clothes
  • learnt how to be a fire guard
  • identified bombs and aircraft
  • experienced an air raid siren and entered a bomb shelter
  • had a gas mask practise in case we were gased by the Germans.
